While we were to leave for Guatemala this past Wednesday, once again we were cancelled. We have now been scheduled for the middle of September. Though we are not physically in Guatemala we have our friends and the families in Santa Maria de Jesus in our prayers. With donations from our friends we have been able to give several families food which will last 2 weeks. We are grateful for Pastor Jeremias being available and willing to serve the families in Santa Maria and distribute the food.

Some of these families we see and visit frequently from knowing their children at the feeding center, other families we are looking forward to meeting once we return to Guatemala.
Fidel, in the video below, is the local man in Santa Maria that helps us with the building of the homes. Fidel is married and has 5 children, the youngest being a precious little girl that is 9 months old with down-syndrome. In addition to his help in the builds, he is our go-between with the families that only speak Kaqchikel. He will talk to the family then communicate with us in Spanish so we are able to have a conversation and share the gospel with all those in Santa Maria.
