September was a wonderfully busy month. It all started with Clinica the first week of September. I believe last count had 65 surgeries for General and OB/GYN. Surgeons came from Tennessee, Alabama, and North Carolina.
Due to your financial and prayer support we were able to fully fund a Hysterectomy surgery as well as two biopsies. The pictures below were taken at the clinic prior to the surgery and biopsies. We sincerely are grateful for the support back home. Lives are being changed both physically and spiritually. In addition to the medical support your gifts also allowed us to provide a 10-year water filter to a family up one of the nearby mountains that was struggling to get any type of bottled water due to the in-accessibility of their home. Your support also allowed us to help start a church build on the rural dormant volcano of Acatenango. This volcano is the one next to Fuego which was shown in earlier blogs that erupted. It is a dangerous area but many live on the Acatenango volcano. The church is currently meeting in a cramped, wet, and muddy hut and we are helping them start a building that should hold around 200 as the plans are now. Once the building begins, we will try to get pictures uploaded.
Thank you so much for you prayer and financial support. We would not be able to be here in Guatemala without it.... Blessings until next month. Cary and Rita

| This is Anabella Esmeraldina, she is having a mammography biopsy due to your support. We
should know the results in our October clinic. Pray for her continued
support on the Lord to provide for her health. She is very lonely. She has no husband nor children and really needs prayers to enable her to rely solely on Jesus every day. |
 |
| This is Isabel Sac Saj, she also received hysterectomy surgery due
to your support. She is doing much better now and has had no issues on
her post-op visits. She is a grandmother and cares for her
grandchildren. |
 |
| This is Maria Xivir, she is having a biopsy performed on a cyst on her neck. We should know the results during the October surgery week and we will let you know of the outcome and what the prayer need is. |

| Part of our weekly lives helping feed the children in Santa Maria de Jesus. They are starting the VBS portion of the day. The day starts at about 11:30 and the children leave around 2:30. |

| Last week we built a house for a family. It is the rainy season here currently and the entire home was build in the rain. Here is Rita, our friend that helped us, Julie, and the grandmother in her current home. We could not stay inside long because she started the cooking fire and the entire hut filled with smoke. |

| This is a picture of her property as taken from her hut's doorway. You can barely see the bright spot in the middle back of the picture. This is where we are building her new home. |

| Rita with the family in front of the new home. The father was working out in the field. The area was so small we could not get a picture from the front of the home. |

| A church group from Tulsa OK came to Santa Maria de Jesus and provided vacation bible study to all the students at the public school. They are open to the spread of the gospel in the schools and it was a very good week. The principal is Christian and invites us in every time we have a group that wants to share. You can see Rita in the foreground. She was one of the translators for the Tulsa team. |
 |
| One of the classes that we helped the Tulsa team with VBS. They had VBS at the school on Monday - Wednesday and then on Friday went to each classroom and prayed with all the students. It helped us be reassured from God as to why He called us to be here in Guatemala. |
